The Start of the Journey

Zen Zhou got its launch from the hard work of individuals.

Before Zen Zhou Social Enterprise was officially established in October 2016, there was already a group of people who took action in their own lives, and in their social circles, promoting the reduction of plastic use. They believe:

“By carrying an extra set of utensils, you can reduce the waste of plastic utensils; by bringing reusable bags, you can prevent the waste of plastic bags…”

Only by believing we can make a difference, can we be like water, which when it gathers together has the power to bore through stone.

At some point, some of us began to wonder: Why don’t we turn the ideals of reducing plastic use into products?

Changing one’s life habits requires determination and resolve, but perhaps we need better replacement products instead of only relying on the promotion of ideals. If we start from the production level, creating more appealing products, we should be able to more effectively promote taking action to reduce plastic use.

Therefore, Zen Zhou arose from individual ideals, transitioning the energy of individual action into “Zen Zhou Social Enterprise,” because ultimately Zen Zhou’s mission extends beyond the individual.

For Zen Zhou, reducing plastic use is not just an ideal; it is an industry that is beneficial to both people and the environment.

Out of concern for our oceans, and with a spirit of creativity and innovation, Zen Zhou researches how to make use of health-friendly, and environmentally materials to develop new products that are practical and stylish, in order to solve health problems and environmental issues brought by plastic use.

From raw materials to design and sales, Zen Zhou integrates their supply chain and sales with companies that uphold common principles, creating a platform for promoting sustainable, low-plastic life-styles with the goal of improving the circular economy. 100% of Zen Zhou’s profits are reinvested toward the development of new plastic-replacing products, contribution to social causes, and our employee benefits.

By practicing the ideals of reducing plastic, contributing to beneficial economic cycles, and reducing plastic garbage at its source, Zen Zhou offers a convenient and healthy model for a low hassle low-plastic life.
